Sustainability

Mission Statement

The Strategic Committee on Sustainability is responsible for oversight of the university’s effort to create a center of academic excellence in sustainability.  This includes:

  • fostering world-class research and leading degree programs in sustainability;
  • guiding the integration of sustainability into the university’s education, research, and public outreach activities;
  • advising the administration on institutional management standards that contribute to a future with natural resource systems that are healthy and thriving for all;  and  
  • supporting new initiatives that place the university as a leader in sustainability.

Approved by the Strategic Committee on Sustainability on October 17, 2013 and by the Board of Trustees on October 18, 2013.
